OC-LA New Badminton Tournament a Great Success

▶ The largest number of participants ever: 450

Players participating in the 7th ‘New Badminton Championship’ took part together on the court.

The Orange County Badminton Association (President Judy Park), which is famous for its fun, successfully held the 7th ‘New Badminton Championship’ in collaboration with the LA Badminton Association (President David Kang) at the Arena Badminton & Sports Club in Pomona on the 24th.

With over 450 players, including over 100 non-Koreans, this tournament is one of the largest ever hosted by the OC Badminton Association. “There were more players than we initially expected,” said President Judy Park. “I am so grateful to the participants and sponsors.”

This tournament was an open competition with men’s and women’s doubles, mixed doubles, Koreans and people of other ethnicities participating together, and was divided into age groups: under 30, 40, 50, and over 60.

Meanwhile, the Orange County Badminton Association, which is fun, changed the name of the tournament, which was OC Badminton Tournament last year, to ‘New Badminton Championship’ this year. ‘New’ is the name of the zero sugar soju that Lotte Chilsung Beverage USA, the title sponsor of the tournament, introduced to the US market this year.
