BM: That win has injected a lot of pride and confidence into our hurling community. Many of those players have demonstrated their capability at various levels, including previous U-20 and minor finals, and their transition to the senior level is key for us. We’ll be leaning on that talent as we aim for promotion and sustained success.

ND3: You mentioned the challenges of the Liam MacCarthy Cup. What do you foresee being the biggest obstacles?

BM: It’s going to be a tough journey; the competition is fierce, and we need to be ready for it. The teams we’ll face are battle-hardened and have a wealth of experience. Tho,we are optimistic about nurturing our young talent to meet those challenges head-on. As I said, it’s an exciting time but a challenging task.

ND3: As a former All-Ireland winner with Tipperary, how has your experience shaped your approach to coaching?

BM: Bringing in a fresh viewpoint is crucial, and my experience with Tipperary has definitely informed my coaching style. I want to instill a high-performance mindset in players, enabling them to excel under pressure. We encourage resilience and strategic thinking, particularly at critical moments in the game.

ND3: Speaking of strategy, can you tell us about the new roles within the coaching staff, including Séamus Callanan’s contribution?

BM: Séamus has a wealth of experience and insight, particularly in his role as forwards coach. He will work on enhancing the forwards’ positioning and movement,which is vital for our attacking play. Additionally,having my brother,Martin,on board has brought a level of camaraderie and understanding that helps in our communication during training and matches.

ND3: Looking ahead to next season,how do you anticipate the matchups,particularly against teams like Tipperary?

BM: Each match will offer unique challenges. While we’ve faced Tipperary this past season, we know we’ll need to adapt our game plan moving forward. They’re a formidable team, but we believe that with the right readiness and mindset, we can improve and make a stronger showing in the Munster championship.

ND3: what message would you like to send to Offaly fans as the season approaches?

BM: We’re committed to strengthening hurling in Offaly through our young players. we appreciate the support of our fans and hope they continue to rally behind us as we work towards our goals. Together, we aim to bring success back to Offaly hurling.
