Oh Jae-won announced his departure from SPOTV commentary through his social media on June 26. In a post, he expressed that continuing with SPOTV would be a burden, prompting his decision to terminate his contract. He expressed gratitude for the support he received thus far and added, “Now, I feel that I have come to a position where I can share the behind-the-scenes stories. It’s a fresh start for me.”
During the game between Samsung Lions and SSG Landers held at SSG Landers Field in Incheon on June 25, Oh Jae-won highlighted the strong performance of SSG starting pitcher Cho Seong-hoon. He mentioned that Cho threw a good pitch, particularly referring to his game against Doosan on June 20.
The controversy surrounding Oh Jae-won’s comments surfaced during the game on the 24th. In the 7th inning when Samsung was trailing 7-13, pitcher Yang Chang-seop threw to Choi Sang from 1st, 1st, and 3rd base.
