shohei Ohtani, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ star, is set to make his pitching return after nearly two years. The Dodgers announced that Ohtani will start against the San Diego Padres at Dodger Stadium.
ohtani’s last major league pitching appearance was Aug. 23, 2023, while with the Angels. After elbow surgery,he is ready to pitch again,now in Dodger blue.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Ohtani was eager to return. “Shohei is getting antsy, which is a good thing for us,” roberts said.”He’s ready. Its time to go.”
Ohtani will be an opener, pitching one or two innings before Ben Casparius takes over. The Dodgers aim to showcase Ohtani’s talent while managing his workload.
“He’s going to open for us,” Roberts stated. “The live simulated games have run its course and he’s ready to make his debut on the mound. It’s great for the game. I’m excited for Shohei.”
