Russia has claimed that Ukrainian forces have launched another attack in the southern province of Belgorod, which borders Ukraine.

According to Reuters news agency and TAS, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on social media on the 15th local time that “one of the Ukrainian military shells fell into an oil storage tank in the area and caused a fire.”

It was explained that a fire broke out in an oil tank with a capacity of 3,000㎥, but there were no casualties and fire extinguishing work was completed.

Governor Gladkov also said that a border post in Belgorod had been under attack for several days, with 14 shells being fired that day alone.

Belgorod Province in southern Russia, which borders Ukraine, is a key supply point for the Russian military’s oil and ammunition cache, some of which even broke down.

Russia said that Ukrainian forces had opened fire, but that Ukraine did not accept responsibility for the attack, arguing that the Russian missile could have been fired.
