Out of the numerous brands analyzed in the recent evaluation, testers classified most options as very good. The findings offer reassurance to shoppers navigating supermarket aisles, as chemical and microbiological parameters generally met strict quality benchmarks across the tested assortment.

Arsenic Detection Prompts Concern in a Single Bottled Water Product

Despite the largely positive overall results, the testing revealed a significant outlier. According to the General-Anzeiger Bonn report, laboratory analysts detected traces of arsenic in one specific mineral water product included in the assessment.

The discovery of the heavy metal in a commercial beverage triggered a downgrade for that particular brand. Regulators and consumer advocates closely monitor arsenic thresholds in drinking water and bottled beverages due to potential health risks associated with long-term exposure to the element.
