A 30-year-old woman died after being shot by police in Munich on Saturday following a knife attack in the
Theresienwiese area, known for hosting Oktoberfest. The Munich police responded after the woman reportedly
stabbed a 56-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman.

during the attempted arrest. The woman, believed to be Bulgarian, was transported to a hospital where she died
during emergency surgery, according to Bild.
The area was cordoned off as the Munich Criminal Investigation Department investigated. Sniffer dogs were deployed
to search for evidence at the oktoberfest site.

Bavaria’s Interior Minister joachim Herrman acknowledged the incident.
“I am very grateful to the Munich police for their swift intervention and stopping the knife attacker. Her death
is regrettable, but unfortunately, it was probably unavoidable.”
Authorities stated that the victims sustained minor injuries during the Munich knife attack. The motive for the
attack is currently unknown.
Earlier that day, in a separate incident in Passau, Germany, a car drove into a crowd, injuring at least five
people, including a 5-year-old girl. The driver, a 48-year-old man, was detained, and the incident is under
investigation.
