OnePlus has started rolling out the stable Android 17-based ColorOS 17 update to the flagship OnePlus 15 and OnePlus Pad 4 ahead of their scheduled October 29 release date, 9to5Google reported.
Early Stable Release Reaches Open Beta Participants
The early push bypasses the company’s initial October 29 timeline, bringing stable software builds to retail units following a brief open beta period. Users participating in the open beta track are among the first to receive the official over-the-air transition, moving their devices from preview software to the final release.
According to user reports on Reddit and OnePlus Community announcements cited by Android Authority, the stable update is currently arriving on the OnePlus 15 under model number CPH2745. The OnePlus Pad 4 joins the OnePlus 15 as the sole hardware recipients in this initial rollout wave.
ColorOS 17 Visual and Performance Upgrades
OxygenOS has served as OnePlus’ custom skin on Android for years, beginning as a near-stock interface before evolving into a globally optimized version of Oppo’s ColorOS. When OnePlus wound down most of its global operations, the company confirmed that OxygenOS would be phased out in favor of ColorOS on existing and upcoming devices.

Android Authority reported that ColorOS 17 introduces revamped fluid animations, enhanced quick-settings panels, and deeper system customization options. The software package also includes updated privacy controls and improved background process optimization designed to maximize battery efficiency on top-tier hardware.
In an official summary outlining its software goals, OnePlus explained that ColorOS 17 arrives to deliver a fresh generation of intelligent user experiences, fluid navigation, and increased flexibility in adapting your phone to your needs.
OnePlus added that at the heart of ColorOS 17 is an idea they believe in: Flow with AI, Flow Everywhere. The firm emphasized that modern devices should adapt to users intuitively rather than demanding a learning curve, explaining that by utilizing AI to streamline daily tasks and transform concepts into polished outcomes, they are embedding intelligence directly into key scenarios to help individuals transition between different actions, gadgets, and functions with minimal friction.
Incremental Staged Deployment and Upcoming Waves
Because OnePlus deploys major Android version updates in incremental stages, the update notification will initially appear for only a small percentage of users. Wider global availability will ramp up over the coming days as the stability of the build is confirmed. Eligible device owners can manually check for the software by navigating to Settings, selecting About device, and choosing ColorOS.
The next deployment wave is scheduled to land on October 30, bringing the software to the OnePlus 13. Additional hardware, including last-gen flagships and an assortment of Nord devices, remains slated for subsequent software updates.
