“ONEXPLAYER 2”, the domestic version of which has started to be pre-ordered the other day.
This is a new product from One-Netbook, which has released many familiar UMPCs (ultra-miniature laptops) and gaming UMPCs (portable gaming PCs).

The release is scheduled for March 31, but the machine is on display at the Hibeam Akihabara flagship store in Akihabara.
As you can see below, the 8.4-inch high-spec tablet has a detachable Nintendo Switch-like controller and a detachable keyboard on the left and right. (The keyboard set will be an order privilege, but will be an optional item sold separately after 2/20)
Until February 20th, an original sleeve case and a dedicated cover keyboard are included as benefits, and the 16GB / 1TB version with Ryzen 7 6800U is reasonably priced at 149,400 yen including tax. The 32GB / 1TB version is 163,800 yen, and the 32GB / 2TB version is 178,200 yen.

Appearance and specifications
First of all, if you attach a game controller without a keyboard, it looks like the original machine (although there are many variations depending on the type of CPU) ONEXPLAYER (not the 7-inch mini), as the shown below.
Let’s look at the specifications first.

The display supports 10-point multi-touch, and also supports a 4,096-step head pressure detection head (which is sold as an option). Comes with a 65w GaN charger. The claimed runtime is 9 hours for local video playback and 5 hours for gaming.
The size is 310x127x23-40mm and the weight is 709g. The controller is 139g.
There is a kickstand on the back, and the speakers are harmony certified dual stereo. Built-in 6-axis gyro and dual motors.
On the back, there is a retractable kickstand as shown below.
Ports are microSD card slot, USB 3.0 Type-A, USB 4.0 Type-C, 3.5 mm earphone jack from the right as ↓ at the top.
USB3.2 Type-C is attached to the bottom as shown below.
Like the Nintendo Switch, the game controller can be removed and turned into a standalone controller with an optional connector.
When you remove the controller, it transforms into a Windows tablet as shown below. It’s a bit thick, but it’s a high-spec 8.4-inch PC!
A feeling of size that can be held in one hand. This is the appeal of One-Netbook and GPD products.
You can also use it as a Surface by removing the controller and attaching a detachable keyboard.

If you use it as a Surface for work, it will be a small 2-in-1 like the one below.
The touchpad is small but sensitive.
The layout of the keyboard is as shown below. Based on the US layout, the symbol keys have been largely omitted to match this size. It’s a shame you have to press Fn at the same time as parentheses, but you can enter a hyphen with one key.
Comparison with iPad mini 6
Now, when it comes to 8.4 inches, it’s human nature to want to compare it to the 8.3-inch iPad mini 6.
That is why they are arranged next to each other. They look very similar in size from the front.
The 0.1-inch larger screen has a slightly larger screen, and since it is thicker, it looks much larger when photographed from above.
The thickness is quite different. The cooling system is included and the performance is high, so it will be unavoidable.
Comparison with ONEX PLAYER
Let’s compare it to the ONEXPLAYER below.
The keyboard is said not to be compatible, but the look and feel of the size with the keyboard attached is very similar. It is a detachable image of the ONEXPLAYER game controller with the keyboard attached.
Same keyboard layout. However, the keyboard magnet is stronger than ONEXPLAYER.

There are many machines with Ryzen 7 6800U, so you can imagine the performance in general. Although it is a small machine, it has a high performance that can play 3D AAA games.
The appeal of this machine is that it can be used not only as a portable gaming computer, but also as a Surface-like 2-in-1 PC or tablet-like case.
