Apple is gearing up to launch three new Apple Watch models in 2025, but only one of them is getting a major redesign. These devices are expected to hit the market in the second half of 2025, likely during Apple’s annual iPhone launch event, which typically occurs in September[1].

The cheapest of the new models, the Apple Watch SE, will have a fresh new look. In contrast, the Apple Watch Series 11 and Ultra 3 models are expected to stay largely unchanged. The Series 11 already underwent a significant redesign last year, featuring a larger display and thinner profile. The Ultra 3, despite potentially receiving some exciting new features such as satellite connectivity and 5G RedCap network access, has seen little change since its launch in 2022[1].

Earlier rumors suggested that the Apple Watch SE might come with a plastic casing, but this information does not appear in the latest report. If the Ultra 3 stays as is, it might come as a disappointment, given its unchanged design since its initial launch. However, it also hints at the possibility of it finally receiving high blood pressure detection capabilities, along with the Series 11[1].

While the Ultra 3 might be stuck in a design rut, it’s clear that Apple is championing innovation with its new features. Whether these updates are enough to satisfy enthusiasts remains to be seen. One thing is certain: the tech giant is pushing the boundaries of wearable technology with each new iteration.
