Hong Kong and Macao Lutheran Church Ming Dao Primary School Welcomes Students with New School Uniforms and Emotional Counseling

As the new school year begins, students at Hong Kong and Macao Lutheran Church Ming Dao Primary School are excited to return to school. To make the transition smoother, the school has introduced a new slogan, “deal with emotions first, then deal with things.” On the first day of school, students gathered for a special 70-minute interactive session, where they shared their feelings about the summer vacation and the beginning of school.
The school has also made significant changes to its uniforms, replacing traditional shirts and skirts with comfortable Polo shirts and khaki shorts or culottes. The new sportswear features a round-neck white-orange short-sleeved top and black sports shorts. White sneakers are now the standard footwear for both school uniforms and sportswear.
Principal Fan Wanjun believes that the new uniforms will bring students a sense of comfort and help them perform at their best. He also emphasized the importance of emotional counseling, stating that “we can deal with our emotions first, and then deal with things.” To support this initiative, the school has arranged for big brothers and sisters from the sixth grade to write heartfelt cards for each student, making them feel cared for and supported throughout the year.
The school has planned several activities for kindergarten students, parents, and students to experience primary school life. These include consultation meetings for elementary school students and the Mid-Autumn Festival Lantern Festival. Details of the activities are as follows:
1. “Eat and Drink at the Same Time”
Content: Sharing the school philosophy, curriculum features, and campus visits of Mingdao Primary School in the form of a gathering called “Eating and Talking.”
