Oradea and Sântandrei Grapple with Unexpected Power Outage
Oradea, Romania – Residents of oradea and neighboring Sântandrei experienced widespread power outages on Monday, causing disruption across several key areas, including Calea Aradului and the city center. The cause of the “massive current wedge,” as described by local sources, remains unknown.
According to Bihorean, the outage impacted numerous streets in both Oradea and Sântandrei. While power began to be restored gradually around 1:20 PM, many residents continued to experience interruptions well into the afternoon.
The Electricity Distribution Site Romania (DEER) website indicated ongoing accidental interruptions affecting a significant number of streets in both locations as late as 2:00 PM. The following streets in Oradea were among those listed:
