Mauritania’s ruling “Insaf” party announced today, Saturday, that it had delegated the party’s leadership to communicate with the opposition parties, the Union of Progressive Forces and the Democratic Forces Bloc, in order to reach a political agreement, in order to consolidate the political calm.

The party said in a statement after its executive office meeting that the party had studied a proposal made by its vice-president related to the political partnership agreement between the Justice Party and the Union of Progressive Forces and the Democratic Forces Bloc.

The two opposition parties had met a few days ago with President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Al-Ghazwani, and presented him with a political document, without disclosing the content of this document.

The statement added that this political partnership between Al-Insaf and the two opposition parties “will enhance the climate of political calm and translate the will of political openness approved by His Excellency the President of the Republic,” according to him.

On the other hand, the office discussed the updated plan to reform the party so that it “will be able to advance its political work and actively participate in the implementation of the political and social project of His Excellency the President of the Republic and play its guiding role towards all its activists,” according to the statement.
