Overview of the New Oura app Features
oura has redesigned its app to provide users with more actionable health data, focusing on both immediate well-being and long-term health trends. The update, launching in the coming weeks, introduces two primary tabs: “Vitals” and “My Health,” alongside expanded health-tracking capabilities.
“Vitals” Tab: Real-Time Health Monitoring
The “Vitals” tab is designed for daily decision-making,offering “at-a-glance views of core health pillars” like sleep, stress, and cardiovascular trends. The app utilizes color-coded indicators based on biometric data to provide quick visual cues about a user’s current health status. This allows for immediate awareness of potential issues or positive changes.
“My Health” Tab: Long-Term Health analysis
In contrast to the “Vitals” tab, “My Health” focuses on long-term health management. It provides cumulative data on a user’s strengths, traits, and areas for proactive care. A key feature within this tab is a dedicated section analyzing habits and routines, linking “daily behaviors to measurable outcomes,” enabling users to understand the impact of their lifestyle choices.
Enhanced Health Tracking Capabilities
Oura has substantially expanded its menstrual cycle and fertility tracking features. Previously limited to a month of data, users can now view a full year of cycle data. Furthermore, personalized cycle phase data is now available from a single night of sleep, a ample improvement from the previous two-month waiting period. This faster feedback loop allows for more timely insights into reproductive health.
Compatibility and Hardware Requirements
The updated Oura app will be exclusively available for owners of the Oura Ring Gen3 and the Oura Ring 4. The Ring 4 recently received a hardware update, including the option for a more durable ceramic coating.
