Ousted Sudanese Leader’s Health in Jeopardy: Al-Bashir May Require Urgent Medical Attention Abroad
Ousted Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir May Require Medical Treatment Abroad
Omar Al-Bashir, the ousted president of Sudan, may need medical treatment outside the country, according to his lawyer, Mohamed Al-Hassan Al-Amin.
Al-Amin confirmed that Al-Bashir, 80, was transferred from the capital city of Khartoum to the northern city of Meroe to receive medical treatment. He was initially taken to a detention center in Merowe before being admitted to a hospital in the city.
Al-Amin stated that Al-Bashir requires regular health check-ups and follow-ups, as he sometimes develops complications that necessitate medical attention. Although his condition is not critical at present, the causes of some of his symptoms have not been diagnosed, and he may need treatment abroad.
This marks the first time Al-Bashir has been transferred from the capital city of Khartoum since his ousting.
