The out-of-control satellite will crash nearly 30 years after launch.
The satellite, known as ERS-2, should break into pieces and burn up on re-entry, according to the European Space Agency (ESA), Sky News reports.
At this time, specialists cannot accurately determine the place and time of re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere. Some pieces may not burn up and fall to Earth, experts said.
