Philip Enewally, the YouTuber known as P2istheName, died from sudden cardiac dysfunction, according to the Los angeles County Medical Examiner’s office. Enewally, 26, passed away in March.
The medical examiner’s office released a statement Tuesday, June 10, confirming that Enewally’s death was due to a rare heart condition, solitary papillary muscle hypertrophy. This condition is a subtype of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which elevates the risk of sudden cardiac arrest.
Enewally, known for his gaming videos and vlogs on his P2istheName YouTube channel, was discovered unconscious in the mail room of his Los Angeles residence March 14. Responding fire department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
His mother confirmed the death to TMZ, requesting privacy for the family.She suggested honoring his memory by visiting his YouTube channel, which boasts nearly 4 million subscribers. He was known for his NBA 2K and Fortnite gaming content, and also vlogs and prank videos.
Fellow YouTuber ColetheMan expressed his grief on X, formerly twitter, saying, ”My good friend @P2istheName has passed away… wow. I’m honestly at a loss for words. He was always so kind to me and gave me so much content creation advice. May he rest in peace. This breaks my heart.”
“Solitary papillary muscle hypertrophy is a subtype of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is a risk factor for a sudden fatal cardiac event,” the Medical Examiner’s office said.
