General manager Brian Gutekunst addressed media members prior to the sessions, outlining plans to play starters for a couple of series during the upcoming preseason schedule, as reported by Acme Packing Company.

Roster Moves and Injury Updates at Ray Nitschke Field

Coming into the initial phases of training camp, the Packers listed 11 players on either the physically unable to perform list or the non-football injury list, according to Acme Packing Company. That group featured tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave, offensive lineman Aaron Banks, edge rusher Micah Parsons, and defensive lineman Javon Hargrave.

However, immediate roster shifts occurred when Aaron Banks and defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse returned to practice participation, clearing them from the PUP list, per Acme Packing Company reporting. Gutekunst indicated that Javon Hargrave’s knee issue and long snapper Matt Orzech’s calf problem are not long-term concerns. Meanwhile, Luke Musgrave is dealing with a neck injury that the team is actively evaluating, while Tucker Kraft is expected to return to action within the next week or two following a timeline comparable to Christian Watson’s recovery.

Offensive Line Shuffling and Practice Highlights

Depth challenges emerged early on the offensive side of the ball. Rookie offensive lineman Jager Burton, who had been taking reps with the first-team offense at guard in place of the recovering Aaron Banks, exited the field with an injury and did not return, according to Acme Packing Company. With Banks and Zach Tom being eased back into the mix, Green Bay deployed a first-team offensive line consisting of Jordan Morgan, Jacob Monk, Sean Rhyan, Anthony Belton, and Darian Kinnard from left to right.

On the defensive front, Acme Packing Company noted that pads have not yet gone on, keeping the defense slightly ahead in the early install phase. Despite that dynamic, quarterback Jordan Love executed a notable play during a red-zone team period, scoring a touchdown on a read-option run near the goal line—a design typically reserved for Malik Willis in past packages.

Coaching Staff Approach to Running Back Situation

Off the field, head coach Matt LaFleur addressed running back Josh Jacobs’ ongoing legal situation, stating that nothing had changed regarding the Brown County investigation into domestic violence allegations. According to Acme Packing Company, LaFleur confirmed it was business as usual, and Jacobs participated fully in team drills to open the camp schedule. The Packers continue to evaluate their depth across multiple position groups as preseason preparations intensify at Ray Nitschke Field.
