Pakistan Cricket Board denied NOC to Azam Khan

The Pakistan Cricket Board has rejected Azam Khan’s No Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in the International League T-20 tournament.

UAE’s first IL. Azam Khan is the only Pakistani player to participate in the T20 league.

The player plays for Desert Vipers, the only non-Indian owned team in the league. The 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman will not be able to feature in the upcoming match as he has not received the NOC to compete in the league, which starts early next year.

The PCB informed the organizers of the Dubai League that they will not issue NOCs to Pakistani players.

Pakistan had earlier announced that the PCB had banned its players from the ILL T-20 to be held in January next year.

It is suggested that the ban could be due to the fact that 11 of the 12 team owners in both tournaments are Indians.

The report released by the PCB also said that the Indian owners do not favor players from Pakistan because of the diplomatic enmity between the two countries.

“We were informed by the PCB that NOC will not be given to Pakistan players to play in ILT T20.

It was the decision of the owners to take the Pakistani players or not, but Lancer Capital was interested in taking them in,” ILT T20 officials said.

Meanwhile, Azam Khan, son of former Pakistan legend Moin Khan, said he had no idea about the NOC’s decision.

ILT-20 takes place between January 6 and February 12.
