Pakistan Petrol Prices See slight Increase; LPG Costs Decrease in June
Pakistani consumers will see a slight adjustment in fuel costs as petrol prices increased by Re1 per liter, according to the Finance Division. High-speed diesel (HSD) prices will remain unchanged.
The Oil adn Gas Regulatory authority (Ogra) previously announced a decrease in liquified petroleum gas (LPG) prices by Rs4.62 per kilogram for June. this translates to a price of Rs2,838.31 for an 11.8kg cylinder, down from Rs2,892.91 in May.
Ogra attributed the LPG price decrease to a 2.67% drop in Saudi Aramco-CP and a slight increase of 0.35% in the U.S. dollar exchange rate.
In related news, the government is pushing forward with efforts to combat illegal activities in the petroleum sector. The National Assembly is considering the petroleum (Amendment) Act, 2025, which aims to digitally track petroleum products from import to retail. Petroleum Minister ali Pervaiz Malik said the goal is to curb smuggling and adulteration, which cause significant revenue losses.
Earlier this month, authorities sealed eight units and fined them Rs5,000 for the illegal sale of LPG cylinders.
