Sunlife Charity Golf Competition Raises Rs 2.8 Million for Children with Cancer

The eighth edition of the Sunlife Charity Golf Competition, held on Saturday, September 8, 2024, at the Île aux Cerfs Golf Club, was a resounding success, bringing together 60 golfers to support a noble cause.

Organized by Sun Life, this annual event mobilizes the golfing community to raise funds for children with cancer. The competition was held over 18 holes in a scramble format, with teams of four golfers vying for the top spot.

The winning team, consisting of Thierry Boutin, Patrick Philogene, Lionel Magisson, and Evelyn Philogene, took home the title in this year’s edition. The charity tournament raised a significant Rs 2.8 million for the Sun Life Children’s Cancer Trust, which funds the pediatric cancer unit at the Victoria Hospital in Candos.

The funds raised will be utilized to maintain the pediatric unit, providing ongoing care and support to children after their treatment abroad. Additionally, Sunlife will continue to provide transportation for children who face difficulties traveling to receive care, as well as psychological support for children and their parents.
