While a celebratory flight unfolds in the sky, the large sailing ship ‘Belem’ carrying the Paris Olympic flame enters the port of Marseille, France.

The Belem is a historic sailing vessel created in a French shipyard in 1896, when the first modern Olympic Games were held in Greece.

After a 12-day voyage carrying the torch from the Temple of Hera in Olympia, Greece, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, it arrived in France.

Swimmer Florent Manaudou was the first runner to carry the torch, while Paralympic athlete Nantenin Keita and French rapper Jules took over in turn and lit the cauldron.

Around 100,000 people gathered at the torch welcoming ceremony to pray for the success of the Paris Olympics.

“It’s really cool.

The torch begins its 79-day journey starting in Marseille, where the Olympic sailing competition takes place.

It is expected to pass through a total of 400 locations during this period and arrive at the site of the Olympic Games opening ceremony on July 26, passing through Paris first on July 14 and 15, France’s Bastille Day.

A total of 10,000 celebrities and ordinary people are expected to take part in the torch relay.

After the opening ceremony, the flame will burn on the cauldron in the Tuileries Garden in the center of Paris, lighting up Paris during the competition.
