Paris Olympics security plans stolen

Alert across France after security plans for the Paris Olympics were stolen from a train stationed in Gare du Nord in Paris!

Who lost the information

According to BFM television, the bag that was stolen belonged to an engineer employed at Paris City Hall.

Police said the man put the bag in the luggage compartment above his seat. At one point, as the train was late, he would have decided to board another one, at which point he discovered that his bag was missing.

In the statement given to the police, the engineer specified that the laptop and the two missing USB sticks contained sensitive data related to the plans for securing the Olympic Games.

The Regional Transport Police has started an investigation in this case, he writes The Guardian.

AFP reports that Paris City Hall was unable to immediately comment on the incident.

Approximately 2,000 police officers will be deployed during the Olympic Games. In total, the security forces number more than 35,000 people. They will be on duty every day of the Olympics, which will begin on July 26.
