The infant, Sabreen Al-Ruh, died less than a week after her birth in a Rafah hospital in the Gaza Strip. Sabreen was removed from the womb of her mother, who was killed along with her husband and other daughter in an Israeli bombing of their house, by an urgent caesarean section for the murdered mother.
Sabreen Al-Ruh remained in intensive care because she was suffering from respiratory distress syndrome, according to doctors, but she died several days later and was buried next to her mother, after whom she was named.
