Patrick Watson is set to release his new album, “Uh Oh,” in September, marking a significant collaborative turn for the Montreal-based artist. The Patrick Watson new album emerged from a challenging period when Watson lost his voice and feared he might never sing again. This experience led him to seek collaborations with several female singers he admired.

Watson faced a singer’s worst nightmare when he lost his voice. uncertain if he would recover, he decided to transform his album into a collaborative project with friends and new acquaintances. The Patrick Watson collaboration features voices of anachnid,Charlotte Cardin,Charlotte Oleena,Hohnen Ford,Klô Pelgag,La Force,MARO,Martha Wainwright,November Ultra,and Solann.
Watson explained that he wanted to write songs for artists he admired. He found this approach more compelling than relying solely on his own voice, even after it returned. The Patrick Watson album, “Uh Oh,” was recorded in Montreal, La Nouvelle-Orléans, Los Angeles, Mexico, and Paris, featuring his regular musicians Mishka Stein and Olivier Fairfield, as well as choir singer Ariel Engle (La Force).
I thought it would be cool to write songs for all these different artists that I really want to hear sing.I’ll figure out how to get out of this situation that way. Because my voice wasn’t supposed to come back. And when it came back, I still thought having all these other voices on the album was more interesting than just mine.
Alongside the album declaration, Watson released the song “peter and the Wolf,” accompanied by a music video co-directed by SAMWOY and himself, filmed in rural Quebec.
