Patti Smith‘s ‘Horses’ Celebrates 50 Years with Expanded Reissue & Tour
Patti Smith’s groundbreaking 1975 debut album, Horses, is being reissued too commemorate its 50th anniversary. The newly remastered edition, arriving October 10 via Legacy Recordings, will be available in 2xLP and 2xCD formats.
This anniversary release includes alternate takes of the original tracks, smith’s 1975 audition tape for RCA, and four previously unreleased songs: “Distant Fingers,” “The Hunter Gets Captured by the Game,” “We Three,” and “Snowball” (available now).
Beyond the reissue, Smith will be performing Horses in its entirety on a tour spanning Europe, the united Kingdom, and the United States this autumn. She recently collaborated with Soundwalk Collective, Philip Glass, and Mulatu Astatke on the albums The Peyote Dance and Mummer Love (2019), and published the memoir Bread of Angels last year.
