Paul Ronzheimer Awarded YouTube Podcast Prize for Innovative Format
Berlin – Paul Ronzheimer, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of BILD, has received a YouTube Podcast Award, marking a significant achievement for the journalist and his popular podcast, RONZHEIMER. YouTube presented the inaugural awards in Berlin on February 25, 2026, recognizing Ronzheimer’s work.
The award, presented at a dinner in Berlin, recognized Ronzheimer in the “Audio to Video” category. The recognition specifically highlights the successful evolution of his podcast, RONZHEIMER, into a video-first format on YouTube. This transition has clearly resonated with audiences, driving substantial growth and engagement.
RONZHEIMER reaches hundreds of thousands of listeners and viewers daily. Ronzheimer and his team deliver comprehensive coverage of critical political and social issues, both within Germany and from crisis zones around the world. He is widely considered one of Germany’s most prominent reporters, having been named “Journalist of the Year 2022” for his reporting from Ukraine. Notably, in Autumn 2025, RONZHEIMER became the first podcast ever to win a Bambi award.
The podcast format was developed in collaboration with Filipp Piatov, BILD’s Deputy Politics Editor, who provides regular political analysis and editorial guidance. Production is led by Daniel van Moll, with support from Lieven Jenrich and Serdar Deniz.
The YouTube Podcast Awards also honored other prominent figures in the podcasting world. Tim Gabel received the “Podcasting Legend” award, and “Lanz & Precht” were recognized in the “Media” category.
Paul Ronzheimer’s career extends beyond his podcasting success. According to Wikipedia, he was born on July 26, 1985, and currently serves as a war and crisis correspondent for Bild, as well as a cross-brand journalistic face for Axel Springer, contributing to outlets like Welt TV and Politico. He has consistently reported from the front lines of major international events, including extensive coverage of the war in Ukraine, where he conducted multiple interviews with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The success of RONZHEIMER demonstrates a growing trend of podcasts adapting to video platforms, offering audiences a more immersive and engaging experience. The YouTube Podcast Awards signal the increasing importance of podcasts within the broader digital media landscape, and Ronzheimer’s win underscores the power of innovative storytelling and dedicated reporting.
