Rob Friedman, a lawyer and pitching analyst known in the United States as the “Pitching Ninja,” gave a humorous award regarding dogs with his X on the 3rd (4th Japan time).

The dog who threw the best ceremonial first pitch was Dekopin, the dog of Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani, who threw the ceremonial first pitch during the game against the Orioles on August 28th. When Otani carried him to the mound, he waited on the mound until Otani moved to the platform. The way he brilliantly carried the ball to Otani at Otani’s signal became a hot topic in Japan and the United States.

In the comment section, there were many congratulatory comments such as “Decoy, you are truly a super ace,” “No matter how many times I see you, you are so smart,” “What a smart kid,” and “Congratulations.”

On the other hand, Lucy May was chosen as the Batdog with the worst performance. During a game played by the Phillies’ 1A Clearwater Threshers in August of this year, he was appointed to pick up the bat, but instead of picking up the bat, he ran onto the ground while the pitcher was practicing pitching before the game. The reason he won the award was because he relieved himself behind the pitcher. The X video posted of this incident received a great response, with over 4 million views. Although the dog was not honored with the award, there were supportive comments in the comments section, including comments such as “She did her best” and “Go Lucy.”
