The “Central News Agency” reported that Lin Junjie was forced to take another airline’s flight back to Taiwan the next day (the 6th). She had flown on many airlines, but this was the first time she had been refused boarding because of a battery.

Peach Airlines noted that due to aviation security, the company’s regulations not only require confirmation of documents, but also a direct visual inspection of the battery. The wheelchair confirmation form on the official website also states that wheelchairs whose batteries cannot be removed without equipment will be refused transport if they cannot be transported.

The Peach Airlines public relations office explained that no discrimination was intended and they are very sorry if passengers feel discriminated against.

In this regard, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of the Japanese government said that Japanese aviation law does not require the battery body to be confirmed on the spot Passengers can use documents or verbal statements to confirm this battery has been notified to all airlines on the 15th.
