The war between Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could go on for weeks, a Pentagon spokesperson said.
Defense Ministry spokesman John Kirby said the observations were made that Russian troops stationed near the Ukrainian capital Kiiu could be relocated to eastern Donbas.
Russia has previously announced that it is realigning its forces around Kiiwu, which appears to be relocating rather than withdrawing from the battlefield, which could cause the war to continue for some time.
Kirby also said that once Russia failed to capture Kiiu, it had moved about 20% of its troops from the front line.
“It is unclear where, for how long, and for what reason they are moving,” he said.
It is expected that these troops will be moved to Belarus and reorganized before being deployed to other regions of Ukraine.
