OSLO,⁤ Norway – ‍A man was found dead late Thursday ⁣in⁢ Oslo’s oppsal⁢ area after reports of gunfire, according to police.

Police Chief arve Røtterud confirmed to reporters at the scene that⁣ the man had been shot and killed. he was pronounced dead shortly⁢ before midnight.

Authorities⁣ have⁤ identified the deceased and are investigating his residence, Røtterud stated. Police investigators were at the man’s apartment Friday.

Røtterud declined to comment on whether the victim was known to law enforcement ⁢or to release his age.

“We are conducting a neighborhood canvass in ⁢the⁤ immediate vicinity,” Røtterud said. “Residents can expect to be contacted by ⁤police, even at ⁤this late hour.”

As‍ of Friday morning,⁣ no arrests have been made. However, police assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.
