Personal information about 800 female soldiers discharged from the Marine Corps… is living together

In the Marine Corps, there was an incident where the sensitive personal information of approximately 800 female personnel, including female soldiers and military personnel, was leaked.

According to the army on the 8th, the Marine Corps Sexual Complaint Prevention and Response Center sent an official letter to the Marine Corps Command and all directly controlled units on the 18th of last month asking them to confirm the current status of female personnel with less. than 5 years of service.

However, a file containing sensitive personal information such as names, affiliation, military service, marital status, cohabitation status, and the recruitment process of approximately 800 female Marine Corps officers, non-commissioned officers, and civilian employees was wrongly attached to the this official document.

The official document was sent to the government’s internal network, the ‘Onnara System’. Although it was in a form that could only be read by the person in charge of the relevant business designated as the recipient, there are concerns that the scope of the leak could be significant as the file could be downloaded.

Female soldiers who became aware of the matter belatedly protested to the Marine Corps Sexual Complaint Prevention and Response Center, and just five days later, on the 23rd of last month, the official documents in question were restricted from read.

It is known that the person in charge of sending the official letter informed the senior officer that he made a mistake when trying to attach another file.

A Marine Corps official said, “It is a matter that is being investigated by the military police as soon as a report of a leak of personal information is received.” I will strengthen my back,” he said.
