“Phasmophobia” Movie Adaptation in Development

The⁤ hit horror game “Phasmophobia” is heading to the big screen. Blumhouse, known for its ⁣work in the horror movie space, is partnering with Kinetic Games⁤ to‍ develop a film adaptation. Atomic Monster, James Wan’s production company, will ⁤also produce the film.

Daniel Knight, director of Kinetic⁣ Games, called the adaptation “a ⁤big moment” for his team. He noted the game’s unexpected success since its⁢ early access launch five years ago and expressed gratitude ⁤to the community. Knight added that working with Blumhouse and ⁤Atomic Monster marks a⁤ new chapter for the ⁣popular game.

“Phasmophobia” places players in the roles of paranormal investigators tasked with identifying the type of ghost ‍haunting a location. the⁣ game,⁣ released in early access in 2020, quickly gained popularity, drawing⁣ comparisons⁤ to the “Ghost⁤ Hunters” TV show.

Kinetic Games recently announced ⁤the upcoming Chronicle update, ⁢slated ‍for release‍ in June. the⁢ update will ⁤overhaul the game’s level, progression, ‍and reward systems. Updates will also rework the Grafton ‍Farmhouse and introduce a new map later in the⁢ year.

“We’re thrilled to officially announce that a Phasmophobia film⁤ adaption is⁣ in development – it’s a big moment for the whole Kinetic team, and the start of something really exciting,” said Daniel Knight, director of Kinetic Games.
