Phil Simms, the former New york giants quarterback, carved⁢ out an exceptional NFL career marked by Super Bowl victories and later became a⁤ well-known broadcasting personality. Simms’ journey to ⁤NFL⁣ stardom⁢ began at Morehead State University.

Simms ‌was the⁢ seventh overall ⁣pick in the 1979 NFL Draft. Other ‌notable quarterbacks drafted from smaller schools include Steve McNair, selected third overall from Alcorn State, and trey Lance,⁣ also picked third from North Dakota State.

Over the next 15 seasons, Simms led the Giants to two Super Bowl titles, earned two Pro Bowl selections, and was named the 1993 NFL Man of the Year. The Giants ⁣honored Simms ⁤by retiring his No. 11 jersey and inducting him into their Ring⁢ of Honor.⁤ He still holds the NFL record for highest completion percentage in a Super bowl (88%) and‍ the highest passer rating in a Super Bowl (150.9).
