Philippines Weather: Fair Skies Forecast for Next 2-3 Days
Fair Weather Expected Across Most of the Philippines, Pagasa Reports
MANILA, Philippines – Residents across most of the archipelago can anticipate generally fair weather conditions over the next two to three days, according to the state-run weather agency. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) announced on Sunday that it is not monitoring any new low-pressure areas forming or entering the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Southwest Monsoon Continues, But With Less Intensity
While the southwest monsoon, locally known as ‘habagat,’ will continue to influence most parts of the country, its impact is expected to be less meaningful in terms of rainfall. Weather specialist Robert Badrina stated in the agency’s 5 a.m. advisory that the prevailing weather pattern will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, primarily during the late afternoon or evening.
Regional Weather Outlook
Batanes is expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the prevailing weather system.
Meanwhile, the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan valley are likely to see partly cloudy to overcast skies. These areas can also expect isolated downpours or thunderstorms, also attributed to the habagat.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will mirror these weather patterns, with localized thunderstorms anticipated.
Pagasa’s advisory underscores a period of relatively stable weather, with the primary concern being isolated afternoon or evening showers, a common occurrence during this season. Citizens are advised to stay updated with the latest weather bulletins from Pagasa.
