Two housemates of Pheobe Bishop, a⁤ missing 17-year-old, have been charged with murder, Queensland ⁢police announced Thursday. The charges come more than three weeks‌ after Bishop’s disappearance.

James Wood, 34, and Tanika Kristan Bromley, ‌33,⁢ were taken‌ into custody in⁣ the Bundaberg area.‌ Bishop was last seen near Bundaberg Airport on ⁣May 15. She had booked​ a flight⁤ to Western Australia to visit⁤ her boyfriend,but ​CCTV footage showed she never made it inside the ‌terminal.

Police stated⁢ that the remains of Pheobe Bishop have not⁣ been found. Detectives are continuing ​their investigation, and ⁢physical searches⁣ will continue as⁤ new information surfaces. Wood⁢ and Bromley also face two ⁤counts each of interfering⁣ with a corpse.

Wood was previously detained⁤ and released without ​charges. ‍The search for Bishop was scaled back after weeks ‍of ‌combing areas of⁣ interest in ‌southern ​Queensland, including a Gin Gin property where bishop lived with ‍Wood and Bromley.⁢ That property, along with⁢ a gray Hyundai ix35 believed to have transported Bishop to the ⁤airport, were declared crime scenes.

“I don’t ‌know if life ​will⁢ ever be the same again?⁣ I don’t know if‍ I will ever look at the world the same⁤ way that I did before May ‌15th,” Johnson posted on ⁤Facebook.

Johnson⁣ added that people have information about her daughter’s whereabouts and urged them to contact the police. the community rallied around ⁢the family, ⁣launching a “Leave the⁤ Lights ‍On for‌ pheobe” campaign. Gin Gin ⁤residents posted photos⁤ of their ‌lit front lights to guide Pheobe home.
