Pixel Launcher Update: Quick Settings Tiles Now Display in Search Results

In December, it was reported that some users were seeing the Quick Settings tile in Pixel Launcher search results, and now it appears this has been rolled out widely.

When you search for system settings from Pixel Launcher, the corresponding Quick Settings tiles will now also appear in the search results. These Quick Settings tiles can be turned on and off without navigating the page, and in the corresponding panel you can open the settings.

Note that when you use search from the launcher, tiles that are not placed in the quick settings are also displayed, which is especially useful when you bring up tiles that you don’t use often. The tiles that appear can search for Internet, Screen Recording, Screen Casting, Home, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, Camera and Microphone Access, Wallet, Light, Do Not Disturb, etc.

However, settings tiles for non-system settings and third-party apps, such as Digital Wellbeing, Google Recorder, and Calculator, aren’t displayed.

The feature appears to have been recently rolled out via a server-side update and is now available on QPR1 and QPR2 Beta Pixel, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet Android phones. I was actually able to confirm this on my Pixel Fold (image above).

However, the currently available feature does not show the quick settings panel at the top of the search results screen, but instead appears at the bottom of the results as part of the Apps section. So you may not notice it until you scroll down or close the keyboard (which I didn’t notice).

When testing this feature, the Quick Settings pane was displayed at the top, so in the future it may appear at the top instead of the bottom.
