A new year is underway, and as winter settles in, video game publishers are outlining their plans for 2026 and beyond. The February PlayStation State of Play, which debuted earlier today, showcased a robust collection of announcements, trailers, and release date confirmations.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora Announced
Developer Ember Lab unveiled a sequel to its critically acclaimed 3D action platformer, Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Kena: Scars of Kosmora follows an experienced Kena as she assists living people as a spirit guide, equipped with a new staff and her fox-like spirit companion, which appears to evolve into a mount later in the adventure. The game is slated for release in 2026 on PlayStation and PC.
Ghost of Yōtei Legends Gets Release Date
Ghost of Yōtei Legends, a four-player online cooperative multiplayer mode for Ghost of Tsushima, is set to launch on March 10 for PlayStation 5, alongside Patch 1.5. Players will team up to defeat the demonic Yōtei Six.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach Coming to PC
Kojima Productions announced that Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will be available on PC less than a year after its PlayStation 5 release. The PC port will include quality-of-life improvements such as unlocked framerates, ultra-wide support, DualSense controller support, upscaling, and frame generation. The release date is set for March 19.
Bad Robot Games Shares 4:Loop Gameplay
Game director Mike Booth of Bad Robot Games provided a deeper look into the core gameplay loop and mechanics of the four-player co-op shooter, 4:Loop. The gameplay overview concluded with an invitation for interested players to sign up for playtesting.
Pragmata Demo Available Now
Capcom released a gameplay demo for Pragmata, available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC. The trailer showcased an otherworldly rendition of New York City, accompanied by a heartfelt conversation between the game’s protagonists, Diana and Hugh.
Leon Returns to Raccoon City in Resident Evil Requiem
A new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, featuring Leon S. Kennedy and newcomer Grace Ashcroft, was revealed. The trailer concluded with Leon visiting a dilapidated Raccoon City Police Department, years after the events of Resident Evil 2. The game is scheduled for release on February 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.
Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered Announced
The final chapter of the Soul Reaver saga, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, is receiving a remaster for current and last-gen consoles, Switch 1/2, and PC, launching on March 3. The remaster includes new character skins, lost levels, and a photo mode. Konami also announced a new 2D action game in the Legacy of Kain universe.
Strategy RPG Brigandine Abyss Announced
Happinent’s next installment in the Brigandine strategy RPG series, Brigandine Abyss, is slated for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC. The game will feature over 100 unit classes and six main storylines.
Dead or Alive 6: Last Round Coming to PS5
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja are bringing Dead or Alive 6 to PlayStation 5 and other platforms as Dead or Alive 6: Last Round, featuring all previously released DLC characters and an improved photo mode. New characters and costumes are planned for future updates, and a free-to-play version will be available at launch. A new Dead or Alive game is also in development for PlayStation 5.
