Despite this warning, he pressed forward.

A Dangerous Injury and Desperate Measures

Trouble quickly found Manousos,who slipped and sustained an injury from a Chunga palm tree. These trees are known for their spiky bark harboring bacteria that can cause severe infections. Recognizing the imminent danger, Manousos attempted self-treatment, cauterizing his wounds with a heated hatchet in a desperate attempt to combat the infection.

Unfortunately, this proved ineffective, and his condition rapidly deteriorated. Exhaustion and the spreading infection led to a collapse,placing his life in critical danger.Fortunately, “The Others” located him and summoned a rescue team.

Rescue and Uncertain Outcome

The arrival of rescue workers in a helicopter offered a glimmer of hope for Manousos’ survival. It is presumed they transported him for medical attention, possibly allowing for timely treatment of the infection. If successful, this could allow him to ultimately meet Carol. However, the episode concludes without definitively confirming his survival.
