Police officer stabs victim for illegal filming in women’s restroom

A police officer working in the Women and Youth Department attempted to film illegally in a women’s restroom at a shopping mall, but was caught and booked by the victim.

The Gyeonggi Anyang Dongan Police Station announced on the 20th that it had booked a police officer from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Department without custody on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Relating to the Punishment of Crimes of Sexual Violence (filming using a camera, etc.).

Police officer A is suspected of sneaking into the women’s bathroom on the first floor of a shopping mall in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province at around 9:00 pm on the 11th and attempting to illegally film victim B’s body with a phone camera mobile.

Police officer A noticed something strange and the victim, who looked up, discovered the crime. He was caught by the police, who were dispatched after receiving a report while arguing with the victim.

Police officer A is said to work in the Women and Youth Department, which investigates sexual offenses against women, and has admitted to the charges.

The police are investigating the details of the crime, including digital forensics on police officer A’s mobile phone.
