JAKARTA, Indonesia (April 17, 2025) – PT Pelabuhan⁢ Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2, also known‌ as Pelindo Regional ⁣2, issued an ‍apology⁤ today following severe congestion at the ⁢Port of ⁣Tanjung Priok. The ​surge⁣ in loading and unloading activity is due​ to a concentrated receiving and delivery schedule at the‍ terminal, occurring after the traffic restrictions were lifted and in anticipation of a joint holiday ⁤from Friday, ⁢April 18, ⁢to Sunday, April 20.

Pelindo Working to‌ Ease ‌Congestion

“We are working to maintain‌ smooth operations⁤ and ensure services ⁤to customers continue optimally, despite the⁣ increase in‌ logistics‌ volume. We are​ also coordinating with the police to help ease congestion at Tanjung Priok Port,” Sugiri said in a written statement Thursday.

Truck Volume Doubles at Terminal

Data indicates ‍that the number of​ trucks entering ‌the terminal has nearly doubled. The average daily volume of fewer than 2,500 trucks has jumped to more than 4,000, all heading to the New⁢ Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT 1).Officials confirmed⁢ that the operating​ system within the terminal and the common entrance ​area ​to NPCT 1 are functioning normally.
