POSCO as the contractor for the redevelopment project of Urban Environment Improvement Business Association (hereinafter referred to as Promotion District Association 2-1) ‘Redevelopment Promotion Area around Citizen Park Zone 2-1’ Busanjin-gu, which is considered Busan’s. POSCO E&C announced on this day that it has been selected as the construction company by defeating Samsung C&T with a majority vote of the union members at the general meeting on the selection of the construction company for Zone 2-1 held on the afternoon of the 27th . Among the 297 union members who attended the general meeting on this day, POSCO E&C had 171 votes (58%), Samsung C&T had 124 votes (41%), and 2 abstentions and invalid votes (1% ).
POSCO E&C is the first in the region to apply the high-end brand ‘Otier’ to the 2-1 Promotion area. We submitted an application with a construction cost of 8.91 million won per pyeong and offered to the union that we would loan all the union’s project costs interest-free. In addition, they set unprecedented conditions, such as providing 124 billion won in business promotion expenses of 400 million won per household.
Samsung C&T, which was competing for orders, offered ‘Raemian S-Palace Busan’. The plan was to apply an exterior design that differed from existing apartments by collaborating with famous foreign designers such as Morphosis, a global architectural design company.
They also claimed they would shorten the construction period by two months, resulting in cost savings of 100 million won per union member. The main technology of ‘Raemian Next Home’, a futuristic residential model unveiled last year, was also used, and the intention was to provide a ‘Furniture Wall’, which allows the design of a home space configuration free of charge, but was pushed out of the competition for orders.
The redevelopment of Zone 2-1 is a project to create 1,902 apartments with 5 floors underground and 69 floors above ground, 99 offices, and auxiliary welfare facilities in an area of 136,727㎡ located in Beomjeon-dong, Busanjin-gu.
