PPP Announces Nationwide Recommended Candidates for Key Constituencies: Gangnam, Seoul, Yeongnam Regions Revealed

On the 15th, the People Power Party announced the nationwide recommended candidates for five constituencies, including Gangnam, Seoul, and some regions of Yeongnam. In Gangnam-gap, Seoul, Seo Myeong-ok, president of the Korean Public Tissue Bank, and Park Soo-min, former director of the European Development Bank (EBRD), were selected as candidates in Gangnam-eul.

Nomination Management Committee Chairman Jeong Young-hwan announced the results of the 23rd meeting at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul. Previously, the Embassy Committee had reviewed the applications for the “National Recommendation Project” received on the 8th and 9th based on criteria such as morality, contribution to society and suitability for the region.

President Myung-ok Seo of the Korea Public Tissue Bank has been selected as a candidate for Gangnam-gap, Seoul. President Jeong said, “I have constantly worked to improve public health in the field of public medicine, including serving as the head of the Public Health Center of Gangnam-gu Office,” and added, “As aging is emerging as a social problem, I am becoming a competent healthcare expert capable of designing and implementing an advanced system.” “It has been decided,” he explained.

Park Soo-min, former director of the European Development Bank (EBRD), has been selected as a candidate for Gangnam, Seoul. Director Park is an economic expert who has served as the Secretary for Research and Development Budget in the Ministry of Planning and Budget and has also been active as an entrepreneur and investor. He is believed to be a talented person who can help ensure growth engines for the local economy and the country.

The candidate for Daegu Dong-gu Gunwigap was decided to be Choi Eun-seok, former CEO of CJ CheilJedang. President Jeong said, “He has been recommended as a professional talent who will revitalize the local economy and promote national development by utilizing his rich experience and expertise in managing a global enterprise.”

The candidate for Daegu Bukgu Gap was Woo Jae-jun, a young lawyer born in 1988. Lawyer Woo has been active in the region, serving as a member of the Daegu Metropolitan City Scrutiny Committee. President Jeong said, “I expect you to take the initiative to serve as a bridge between the older generation and future generations by presenting new policy alternatives from the perspective of young people.”

Kim Sang-wook, a young lawyer born in 1980, was selected as the Ulsan Namgu-gap candidate. Lawyer Kim has long worked as a legal advisor at the Ulsan Nam-gu office and worked to resolve various local issues. President Jeong introduced him as “the most needed worker in the region as he has a high level of understanding of local issues.”
