Prachanda to face a vote of no confidence today – NEWS 360 – BYD

Kathmandu: In Nepal, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda will face a vote of no confidence in Parliament today. Former KP Chief Minister The vote comes in the context of CPN-UML Sharma Oli and Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) withdrawing their support. They left the government last month when the CPN-Maoist Prachanda Center announced its support for Nepali Congress presidential candidate Ram Chandra Paudel. Currently, nine parties, including the Nepali Congress, have declared their support for Prachanda. The Nepali Congress, which has 89 seats in the 275-member parliament, will vote in favor of Prachanda. The Nepali Congress will be part of the government if Prachanda passes the no-confidence vote. RSP and CPN – United Socialist also announced they would vote for Prachanda. Prachanda can overcome the vote of no confidence if he gets 151 votes from these three parties. Prachanda needs the support of 138 MPs to remain Prime Minister. Voting will take place today at 1 pm local time when the Senedd is in session.
