Children’s Day celebration event hosted by the Office of the President with the theme “Happy Imagination, Dreaming of the Future”.
It was originally scheduled to be held at the Yongsan Presidential Office, but the venue was hastily changed to the Blue House as rain was forecast throughout the day.
About 360 people attended, including children and their families, and President Yoon cheered for the children’s future.

First lady Kim Kun-hee was not seen at today’s event.
Because Ms. Kim participated in last year’s Children’s Day event, it was expected that she would come out of hiding for five months again this year, but that was not the case.
Last week, the Attorney General directly ordered a thorough and prompt investigation into the suspected luxury bag recipient.
The investigation, including into the accuser, is expected to accelerate starting this week, but there is also speculation that Ms. Kim may be more cautious in her public actions because she is aware of the prosecutor’s investigation.
For the Office of the President, which is calling for reform of state affairs after the crushing defeat in the general election, it may be a burden for Ms. Kim to re-engage in public activities without any change in the situation, such as establishing a second affiliate headquarters.
However, with the normal diplomatic program on schedule, it is unclear how long external activities will be possible.
President Yoon is expected to be questioned on all pending matters, including the First Lady Kim issue, at a press conference this week.
