Kalpana, a British-trained filly, is set to compete in the Group 1 Paddy Power pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh this Saturday. Trained by Andrew Balding,Kalpana will be ridden by Colin Keane after a third-place finish in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the same venue last month. The Pretty Polly Stakes features seven high-class fillies.
Balding expressed confidence in Kalpana’s chances. “She is a vrey high-class filly,” Balding said. “While we think she might be even better over further, a mile and a quarter should suit her well, especially if the ground stays good.”
The international challenge includes Survie, a French-trained Group 2 winner. Survie will be ridden by Stéphane Pasquier for trainers Nicolas Clément and Flo Hermans.
