Problems with Google Pixel 8 Pro Camera Exposed: Unnatural Noise and Slow Speeds

CNET Korea – Jinyoung Hwang reporting:

In a recent report by CNET US, various issues with the camera of Google’s Pixel 8 Pro smartphone have been identified. One notable problem is the appearance of unnatural noise patterns and speckles in shadow areas when capturing scenes with high contrast between bright and dark regions.

Furthermore, in dimly-lit environments, the camera tends to completely erase the fine details of textures. However, it has been found that using the night vision mode or low resolution mode can yield slightly improved results.

CNET also discovered that the camera speed of the Pixel 8 Pro is slower in full high resolution when shooting in RAW compared to the 12-megapixel option. In contrast, the iPhone 14 Pro’s 48-megapixel RAW mode demonstrates faster speed in this aspect.

A peculiar finding regarding the Pixel 8 Pro’s maximum resolution setting is that it operates so slowly that a “Don’t move” message is displayed on the smartphone’s screen when capturing data-intensive night vision photos.
