The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing a request for a judgment on authority dispute and an application for an injunction to suspend the effect of the ‘Complete Inspection’ bill that restricts the prosecution’s investigative powers.

At a press conference today, Deputy Chief Prosecutor Park Seong-jin said, “The bill is clearly unconstitutional,” and the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office said, “We are preparing meticulously by setting up a separate team for adjudication of authority disputes and injunction application.”

The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office also explained, “Although it is under review, it is considered to have the capacity to do so.”

He continued, “The Constitution explicitly stipulates that the prosecutor’s right to request a warrant is of the majority opinion, but the prosecutor’s review of the warrant and examination of whether a claim is made should be regarded as an investigation stage,” he said. I did.

The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office also added, “When dealing with a specific case, it is possible to violate the principle of separation of powers to determine which prosecutor will be in charge of investigation and prosecution because it is a matter of division of duties and personnel within the administration.”
