Education is provided to elementary, middle, and high school students to prevent drugs, online gambling, and deepfakes, which have emerged as serious social problems.

The Ministry of Education announced the ‘Academic Operation and Student Safety Support Plan for the End of Elementary, Middle, and High School Years in 2024’ containing these contents.

Every year, the Ministry of Education prepares and guides the ‘Academic Operation and Student Safety Support Plan at the End of Elementary, Middle, and High School Years’ in order to improve academic operation at the end of the school year and protect student activities.

This plan supports the operation of a flexible curriculum so that elementary school students to high school seniors who have completed the CSAT can use the end-of-year period as a time for self-development, such as career exploration, and △Strengthens guidance on and off-campus life to protect students from various safety accidents. , It contains details on establishing and operating a safety net at the government-wide level.

This year, in particular, considering the seriousness of social problems such as drugs, online gambling, and deepfakes, related prevention education programs will be provided, and youth who are just starting out in society will be provided, such as ‘rental fraud prevention education, Korea Scholarship Foundation student support, and university connection/visit programs.’ We provide a variety of self-development and career experience activities that reflect the characteristics of each central ministry and institution, such as employment and labor education, to help operate curriculum and creative experience activities.

In addition, best practices of the end-of-year curriculum of provincial and provincial offices of education and schools operated in consideration of the characteristics of each region and school level will be disseminated through Together School and Creative Character Education Net.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education, together with related ministries and provincial and provincial offices of education, operates a ‘Student Safety Special Period’ from the 14th, the day of the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), to December 31.

During this period, we inspect and improve harmful environments for youth, provide education to prevent youth drinking and misuse of harmful drugs, prevent minors from driving without a license, and provide student psychological counseling to help students spend a healthy and safe end of the school year.

Ko Young-jong, head of the Responsible Education Policy Office, said, “Through this plan, we hope that students will spend the end of the school year safely and meaningfully.” He added, “The Ministry of Education will continue to collaborate with related ministries and offices of education to develop diverse and quality solutions that can be used in schools at the end of the school year.” “We will do our best to discover and spread high-quality educational programs and protect students from various safety accidents,” he said.
