Protest over Agneepath project; Employees set fire to trains Agnipath

Workers set fire to a passenger train in Bihar following protests against the Agneepath project. It is learned that two bogies were completely destroyed by the fire. Protesters set fire to the Jammu and Kashmir Guwahati Express. Apart from this, protests are also taking place at Ara railway station. Protesters also torched the Vikramsheela Express at Lakhisarai station. The train, which was parked at Balia in Uttar Pradesh, was also attacked. Internet and SMS systems have been banned in Faridabad, Haryana, following strong protests. Strong protests are taking place in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

In seven states, workers are taking to the streets in protest. Protesters set fire to a train in Bhabua, Bihar, yesterday. After stopping the passenger trains, the employees pulled the passengers out and set the train on fire. Firefighters and police are still trying to put out the blaze.

Protests against the central government continue in all the states under the leadership of job seekers. In Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, youths are taking to the streets in protest. The protests protest by burning tires on the national highway. Rail and road transport was disrupted by Army personnel in various districts. Trains were blocked in Jehanabad, Buxar and Nawada. Police were applied to the tissue gas shells against the Sarin ‘railway station.

Agneepath is a short-term military service project launched by the Central Government. The plan is to hire 45,000 people a year. The Army announced the plan after the Prime Minister directed it to recruit one million people within the next one and a half years.

The fire was announced by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Army chiefs. The defense minister said the main objective of the project was to increase the participation of youth in the army. Military service is for four years. After this, only 25 per cent will be able to serve in other military units. Protests are now underway, alleging that 75 per cent of job seekers will be fired.
